Exhaust gas scrubber cabins

Exhaust gas scrubbers take the noxious and/or inconvenient substances from air streams and process gases. The NeR (Nederlandse Emissie Richtlijnen = Dutch Directives for Emission) exacts standards for the emission of substances in the air.

Makronyl is specialized in building the housing for gas scrubbers in HDPE, PP, PVC or PVDF. Our client, a supplier of scrubbers, supplies the process technical data to Makronyl, on the basis of which we construct the scrubber. We can complete this scrubber with our standard items, like ventilators and dosing systems for chemical products. Makronyl can also supply scrubbers directly to the endusers, in collaboration with one of our fixed partners, a supplier of scrubbers. You will then get a scrubber for which Makronyl is responsible, unless the process-technical part is so large, that the construction of the equipment is subordinate.

Counter current gas scrubber

In counter-current scrubbers the washing liquid and the air to be cleaned are moving in opposite directions: the washing liquid from top to bottom and the air from the bottom to the top. The great advantage of this system is that the concentration of the contamination in the washing liquid reduces as the air becomes cleaner. This type of scrubber is particularly suited, for example, for irregular discharges. The counter-current principle compensates concentration peaks.

(Chemical) scrubbers

A chemical scrubber in standard version contains a filter package that is continuously rinsed with wash-water, with or without a chemical solvent. The air to be cleaned passes through that filter package. Washing with chemicals usually gives a higher cleaning efficiency and saves a lot of wash-water. In standard execution, the scrubbers are provided with a buffer tank, that also guarantees a solid installation on site.

Cross-current scrubbers

In cross-current scrubbers the washing liquid and the air to be cleaned are moving perpendicularly to each other. The big advantage of cross-current scrubbing is the relatively high circulation of the washing water, which results in an intensive contact with the air. Moreover, it is possible to wash in zones, which permits to remove different contaminations in different steps. The required mounting height is limited, but the required space is larger.

Bubblecap scrubbers

In bubblecap scrubbers the air stream passes through the washing water under the cap, which results in an intensive contact between the contaminated air and the washing water. The scrubber consists of three washing plates / sections one above the other. The washing water moves intensively, which has the advantage that the bubbles or the other components will not easily become contaminated. This scrubber is often used in the chromium industry. The advantage of this type of scrubber is also that you need little washing water, that usually, after the last cleaning step, can be returned to the process bath.
